Brookings Institution
The Brookings Institution is a nonprofit policy organization dedicated to conducting independent research and providing recommendations on areas including children and families, economics, education, health care and tax policy.

Center on Budget and Policy Priorities
The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities works at the federal and state levels on fiscal policy and public programs that affect low- and moderate-income families and individuals. The center develops policy options to alleviate poverty and conducts research and analysis to inform public debates over proposed budget and tax policies and to help ensure that the needs of low-income families and individuals are considered in these debates.

Center on Hunger and Poverty
The Center on Hunger and Poverty, at Brandeis University's Heller School for Social Policy and Management, is a research center focused on issues related to food insecurity and hunger.

Children's Sentinel Nutrition Assessment Program
The Children's Sentinel Nutrition Assessment Program (C-SNAP) is a non-partisan research and policy center focused on health and nutrition issues regarding young children. The center analyzes data and produces research to inform policy and address the problem of childhood hunger.

Community Service Society
The Community Service Society conducts advocacy, direct service, research and policy analysis with a primary focus on the value of jobs that provide a living wage and work supports that stimulate social and economic mobility among the working poor.

Congressional Hunger Center
The Congressional Hunger Center is an anti-hunger leadership training organization. The center's primary activities include the Emerson National Hunger Fellows Programs and the Leland International Fellows Program.

Fiscal Policy Institute
The Fiscal Policy Institute (FPI) works to increase public and governmental understanding of issues related to the fairness of New York's tax system and the stability and adequacy of state and local public services. FPI conducts research and produces reports on issues including taxes, economic conditions, minimum wage, labor markets and immigration.

Food Research and Action Center
The Food Research and Action Center (FRAC) is a national nonprofit organization that works to improve public policies in order to eradicate hunger and poverty in the United States. The FRAC website is a resource for research on hunger and food poverty, policy updates and information on government nutrition-assistance programs.

Mathematica Policy Research Inc.
Mathematica Policy Research Inc. conducts research, evaluation and policy analysis within areas including disability, early childhood, education, health, labor, nutrition and welfare.

National Center for Children in Poverty
The National Center for Children in Poverty (NCCP), at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health, is a public policy center that uses research to promote economic security, health and well-being among low-income families and children. Resources developed by NCCP include a Family Resource Simulator showing the impact of government and nutrition assistance programs on the budgets of low- to moderate-income families.

United States Census Bureau
The Census Bureau reports data from surveys including the Decennial Census, the annual American Community Survey and the Population Estimates Program.

United States Department of Agriculture Food & Nutrition Service
The Food & Nutrition Service (FNS) administers the United States Department of Agriculture's nutrition assistance programs including the Food Stamp Program and the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs.

United States Department of Agriculture Economic Research Service
The Economic Research Service (ERS) conducts research and analysis on economic and policy issues related to food and commodity markets, including an annual report on food insecurity in the United States.
